Staer today announced a collaboration with Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, to enable its spatial intelligence platform on Red Hat’s industry-leading platforms, giving industrial operators a fully on-premise path to site observability and autonomous mobile robot coordination. With this collaboration, Staer recognizes Red Hat OpenShift AI as its preferred AI deployment platform for on-premise industrial workloads, enabling customers to keep sensitive operational data on-premises to support their data sovereignty requirements.
Warehouses, manufacturing plants and logistics hubs running Staer’s system generate continuous camera and sensor data from the vehicles working their floors. That data carries commercial sensitivity, and in many sectors it carries regulatory weight. Until now, operators wanting Staer's live semantic 3D maps and fleet coordination had a cloud deployment as the practical route. Enabling Staer’s spatial intelligence platform on Red Hat OpenShift AI, a flexible hybrid cloud platform to deploy open weight models and autonomous agents at scale, empowers customers to operate fully on-premise and in air-gapped environments.
GPU clusters, managed on-premise
Spatial intelligence is GPU work. Mapping, visual relocalization, object detection and vision-language search all run on accelerated compute, and running them next to the operation rather than in a distant region cuts both latency and data egress.
Running on Red Hat OpenShift AI, Staer deploys and manages NVIDIA accelerated computing infrastructure inside the customer's own data centre. GPU nodes are provisioned, driver-managed, scheduled and scaled through the same declarative configuration Staer runs in the cloud, so a customer moving on-premise gets the same platform rather than a reduced version of it. Operators keep their data, their network boundary and their compliance posture. Staer keeps one deployment model across cloud and on-premise.
"Our customers run some of the most data-sensitive operations in Europe, and a growing number of them are asking for on premise solutions," said Jan Erik Solem, CEO and co-founder of Staer. "Working with Red Hat to enable our platform on Red Hat OpenShift AI gives us a way to run the full configuration, including the NVIDIA accelerated computing infrastructure, inside the customer's own walls with enterprise support underneath it."
Enabling workloads at the edge
The collaboration extends to the edge. Staer's perception stack runs on NVIDIA Jetson modules mounted on forklifts, tuggers and autonomous mobile robots already doing real work. With Red Hat Enterprise Linux for the NVIDIA stack, those rigs run on a standardized, enterprise-ready operating system (OS) rather than a vendor board image.
For operators, that means one governed OS lineage from the vehicle to the cluster, with signed images, a known patch cadence and long-term lifecycle support on hardware that lives on a factory floor for years. Devices onboard into Red Hat Edge Manager alongside Staer's own fleet management, so platform users and security teams can manage edge estates with the same trusted tools and processes they already run.
"Industrial operators are increasingly looking to bring advanced spatial intelligence directly to the factory floor while maintaining strict control over their data," said Kelly Switt, senior director, Head of Industrial Business, Red Hat. "By enabling operators to run Staer's platform on Red Hat OpenShift AI and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, we are helping customers deploy mission-critical operational systems with enterprise-grade consistency, built-in security capabilities and local data control."
Relevance for the NVIDIA ecosystem
A member of NVIDIA Inception, Staer has built its platform on NVIDIA accelerated computing end-to-end, from CUDA-accelerated visual-inertial odometry on NVIDIA Jetson at the edge to GPU inference and simulation in the cluster. For system integrators, automation vendors and mobile robot builders in the NVIDIA ecosystem, the combination offers a repeatable way to deliver spatial intelligence into regulated and air-gapped environments without rebuilding the stack for each site.
Staer and Red Hat will be at NVIDIA GTC Berlin, 20–22 October 2026.
